A globally-applicable and harmonised standard for reporting geothermal resources has been approved for the United Nations Framework for Fossil Energy and Mineral Reserves and Resources 2009 (UNFC).Established after several years of work, in which EGEC was involved, the new international system and a standardised terminology for reporting geothermal resources will build trust and understanding of the geothermal industry with investors, regulators and the general public alike.
