The European Union is starting discussion on its next Multiannual Financial Framework, which governs how EU funding is allocated for the 6-years period after 2020.
EGEC joint associations representing the EU renewable industry, environmental NGOs, local authorities and so on in calling for a EU budget that is consistent with the premice of the Paris agreement and that at least 35% of the EU’s budget (compared with 20% in the current programming period) be dedicated to climate action. This notably includes a call for giving specific attention to the decarbonisation of heating and cooling.
