Bundesverband Geothermie e.V and EGEC wrote to the European Commission Directorate-General for Competition (DG COMP) outlining concerns around subsidies for incumbent fossil fuel providers in the proposed new Bundesförderung effiziente Wärmenetze (BEW) programme. The associations call on DG COMP to partially agree the BEW fund to advance investment in renewable energy and solutions whilst rejecting elements that support incumbent fossil fuel applications and utilisation.
