The Roll-out of Deep Geothermal Energy in North-West Europe (DGE-ROLLOUT) Project aims to reduce CO2 emissions by replacing fossil fuels through the increased usage of deep geothermal energy. Over the past five years, the project partners from Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands have explored the subsurface in order to characterise potential geothermal reservoirs, and to provide strategies for their accessibility.
Considering the project closure in October 2023, we will present our major results and conduct a panel discussion focussing on challenges, solutions and the need of Deep Geothermal Energy in (North-West) Europe. EGEC Secretary-General, Philippe Dumas, will take part in this event as a panelist.
