EGEC is currently looking for a full-time communications officer (38h/ week), who is able to work starting from September 2024, for a permanent position under Belgian law.

EGEC is the voice of the geothermal sector in Europe. It is an international industry association with more than 200 members, representing 500 stakeholders from 30+ different European countries in the field of renewable energy.

The successful candidate will work with our Communication team on our main communication channels, activities, events and projects to highlight the role of geothermal energy in the energy transition. We are looking for extra support from a reliable and inspiring officer with a demonstrated interest in communications and a highly proficient level of English. Job description

Responsibilities include:

  • Social Media: Managing the different channels, creating content, following trends, analytics
  • Managing, designing, and editing publications, with a strong focus on the graphic and layout.
  • Video editing
  • Support in the organisation of physical/hybrid/virtual events
  • Website management, especially on WordPress: Managing and updating analytics and strategy
  • Support in project management tasks related to communications.

Desired profile:

  • Background in communication, with a relevant university degree or equivalent experience
  • Good knowledge of current EU affairs and special interest in renewable energies.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Other languages are an asset.
  • Professional attitude, strong team player and ability to work collaboratively
  • Highly Computer-proficient (MS Office suite), experience with websites (especially WordPress), social media, database management, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Experience in preparing publications, videos, and other communication materials
  • Flexible and proactive
  • Ability to multitask and careful attention to details 
  • Reliable, well organised and eager to learn
