As the "little Package", meaning the first half of the Clean Energy Package reaches the phase of negociations between the European Commission, European Parliament and European Council (commonly refered to as "trialogue"), the Renewable Heating and Cooling industry associations (AEBIOM, EGEC, Solar Heat Europe) issued a joint position.

As the Renewable Energy Directive is debated in trialogue between the European Parliament, the European Council and the Commission, EGEC signed a joint statement with other renewable heat associations and representatives from the heating industry to warn against the inclusion of waste heat in the renewable heating and cooling article of the directive.

On February 20th, EGEC co-signed a Joint Letter to Representatives of the European Parliament, Council, and Commission on the subject of Primary Energy Factors as key element for efficient and renewable heat in Europe.
